SI strikes 'deal' for letting off notorious property dealer, innocent grilled | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 31: A Sub-Inspector who is posted as in-charge police post in city outskirts has allegedly struck a 'deal' to let off a notorious property dealer who allegedly fired some rounds from his licensed fire arm under the influence of liquor over a feud in front of a bar few days ago. Sources said that few days ago a notorious property dealer under the influence of liquor had some altercation with some persons following which the former fired some rounds with his licensed fire arm. "At the time of incident, some locals informed the Police Control Room (PCR) and acting on the information of PCR, the in-charge police post reached the spot but the police official allegedly struck deal' with the notorious person and let of him", said a source adding that some innocent persons were put behind the bars just to save the accused. "The bar owner has good relationship with the police officer, who allegedly influenced the in-charge police post to let off the notorious person", said a police source adding that the notorious property dealer has also greased the palm of the in-charge police post for not framing him in the case. However, the in-charge police post picked-up some persons in the connection but the main accused has been let off just for money which he had allegedly paid to the police officer. The incident has already been brought in the notice of senior officers, sources informed. Sources further said that the notorious property dealer was earlier booked in a fraud case. |
