Early Times Report JAMMU, July 31: Semifinals position has been cleared with the entry of J&K Bank (JKB) Academy, Shaheen Football Club, Jammu Sports and Young Hero's Club in the last four stages of the ongoing 2nd Vishal Heer Memorial Football Tournament at GGM Science College ground, here. Now, in the last four stages, JKB Academy shall take on Jammu Sports at 3 pm while Young Hero's shall be playing against Shaheen FC at 4.30 pm. In the first quarterfinal, JKB Academy upset Vijay Club 2-1. Pankaj Sharma and Gautam Mehra were the scorers from winning side striking in the 32nd and 56th minute of the match. From Vijay Club, Sandeep Sharma was lone scorer, who netted the ball in the 35th minute. Meanwhile, in other quarterfinal of the day, Shaheen FC clinched the thriller against Param FC beating latter 6-4 via tie-breaker. Earlier, in the given time, the match ended in a 1-1 draw. Later, in tie-breaker, again the game remained undecided at 4-4 with both sides making three goals each. However, Shaheen did well in rest of the free kicks and emerged winner in sudden death. In another quarterfinal, Jammu Sports blanked Jammu United 3-0. Rahul struck twice in the 43rd and 55th minute while third goal came through Sugam in the last 70th minute. The fourth quarterfinal won by Young Hero's beating Engineers XI by a solitary goal. The only goal of the match came through Parveen Kumar in the 32nd minute through a penalty stroke. Today's match officiated by the technical penal comprising Rakesh Kumar, Suresh Gupta, Rohit Kumar, Tushar Heer, Pankaj Kumar, Jhony, Gautam Mehra, Rajinder Singh and Rohit Gupta. |
