Open slaughtering of animals despised

Udhampur July 31: While the centre and state government has launched many need based schemes including Swachh Bharat Abhiyan but some persons and shopkeepers try to pollute the environment as the live example is the meat market of district Udhampur.
A member of Keep Moving Feet and Walker Association Bharat Choudhary and other residents of Udhampur Arun Kumar, Amit Modi, Sham Lal Amit Singh told Early Times that in morning at meat market Udhampur some shopkeepers start slaughtering in their own shops ignoring the laws and rules while hundreds of people's including children ,elders , women are subjected to this practice.
The children and women passing by such shops become witness to the slaughtering and flow of the blood of the animals in the open that present very gory scene.
They also said that according to the laws and rules the shopkeepers cannot slaughter the goats and sheeps without the proper medical checking which were used as meat for the eating purpose and properly used stamp on these goats and sheep are used for consuming
They allege that the shopkeepers ignore the rules and many times slaughter disease bearuing animals which result into the infection passed on to the human beings The residents of the area urged to school nearby to contact the concerning department on this issue and stop the open slaughtering of these animals in the market.
When contacted Municipal CEO shrugged off the responsibility saying that it's not his duty to control such activity and laid the onus on veterinary and food and controls department .
