Miscreants force NC leader to resign, join protests | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, July 31: National Conference (NC) leader Iftikhar Hussain Misgar, who fought the recent by-elections against Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, on Sunday announced his resignation from the National Conference and joined the ongoing protests. Reports said that NC leader was forced to resign as hundreds of youth this evening barged inside his residence in Anantnag town in south Kashmir and asked him to clear his stand before the public. Sensing trouble, the NC leader, according to sources, announced his resignation from the basic membership of the party. He announced his decision in Anantnag town this evening and joined the street protests. Advocate Abdul Majeed Khateeb, well known Congress leader, belonging to the family of former Prime Minister Shamasuddin was also asked to resign, reports said.
