Benefits of social welfare schemes inaccessible to poor, destitute: Bhalla | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 8: Former Minister and senior Congress leader, Raman Bhalla today visited Gorkha Nagar locality under the jurisdiction of Bahu police station where nine members of a family were injured in a cooking gas cylinder explosion here on Monday. Bhalla terming the incident unfortunate demanded Govt high quality treatment for the victims and financial help to come out of this tragedy. Bhalla continuing to fulfill his social responsibility as public representative also reached hospital in no time to enquire the health of cylinder blast victims. He stayed there for a brief period and appealed the Govt to make sure proper treatment of patients besides verifying the quality of gas and any carelessness on part of company in blast of cylinder. Former Minister interacted with the patients and assured them all help. He asked the doctors about the status of the patients and urged the Hospital authorities and Doctors to provide every required medical facility to the patients so that they do not feel any inconvenience. He also wished for early recovery of the patients. He was accompanied by Rakesh Bhagat, Sham Lal Basan, Mulakh Raj besides other prominent persons of the area. Red Cross which is a volunteer-led, international humanitarian organization that helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies should come to rescue of cylinder blast victims to inspire, encourage and initiate humanitarian assistance to alleviate their suffering. |
