Dialogue with separatists at track II level | Message from Patnitop | | Early times Report JAMMU, Aug 8: The two-day much-talked RSS-BJP conclave at Patnitop concluded with the message that if the high command approved, there would be talks with stakeholders at the track II level. "These are just opinions expressed during the deliberations and they do not represent the stand of either the BJP high command or the central government," said a party source, according to a leading news agency, to a query whether the party was in favour of offering an unconditional dialogue to different stakeholders in the state including the separatists. Same sources said "if approved by the party high command, the involvement of stakeholders (read separatists) would be at Track Two level". This was one of the two most notable messages from Patnitop. The other message from Patnitop was that the formation of the PDP-BJP government in 2015 was a great achievement. The discussion during the two-day conclave on the theme of "controversies, challenges and the way forward" took place in the presence of RSS top leader Hosbole. About 70 participants drawn from different parts of the country took part in the conclave. Significantly, there was hardly anyone from Jammu and Kashmir in the conclave. Significant because the conclave was organized in Jammu's Patnitop and issues like Kashmir and ongoing turmoil in the Valley were discussed without listening to the views of those who had been feeling the pinch. So, it was no wonder that the participants - all directly or indirectly associated with the Sangh Parivar - that they opined that the "formation of the PDP-BJP government in the state was a big achievement". Ramesh Pappa, pranatiya Pracharak, perhaps was the only person from Jammu, who was a witness to what transpired during the so-called conclave. The message from Patnitop was loud and clear. The message was that the PDP-BJP coalition will continue, notwithstanding the bitter opposition from BUJP leaders like Ashok Khajuria, and that the BJP, like the Congress, considered the Hurriyat Conference the stakeholder. It's true that BJP national general secretary and party high command's point man on Jammu and Kashmir, who organized the conclave, said that Kashmir was not on the agenda, but the fact remains that Kashmir was discussed and that there was a dominant view that there must be talks with the "stakeholders at the track II level" One thing is very clear: The policy of the RSS-BJP is no different from that of the Congress. The state is doomed. |
