Tara Chand camp faces yet another embarrassment

Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 8: Former Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand and his group had to face embarrassment yet again as the re-scheduled meeting of the dissident faction in Congress today as majority of the members boycotted the meeting.
Only a handful of dissident camp members, including Tara Chand, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Maheshwar Singh etc attended the meeting, which was held at residence of one of the members, this evening.
Despite prior information, the majority of dissident camp members, including R S Chib, Ashok Sharma, Shakil Shah, Brijmohan, Arvinder Singh Micky, Arun Sharma, Geeta Devi and others refused to take part in the meeting , which was earlier scheduled to be held in a banquet hall near Greater Kailash Jammu.
According to the sources, these members refused to participate in the meeting without Jugal Kishore Sharma, who is out of station. They made it clear to organizers of the meeting that without participation of Jugal Kishore, was it not possible to chalk out further course of action, sources added.
After the Tara Chand camp came to realize that participation in the proposed meeting was going to be very thin, sources said that venue of the event was changed from banquet hall to residence of one of the members.
As reported by Early Times, the scheduled meeting of this camp was postponed earlier as MLA Jugal Kishore had refused to share stage with Tara Chand, who is no more in good books of Ghulam Nabi Azad following his closeness with JKPCC president.
Sources explained the postponed meeting was rescheduled for today by Tara Chand group only in view of the fact that Jugal Kishore was out of station and hence he would not be able to influence other members of the dissident camp to keep away from the event.
While Tara Chand camp is extremely disappointed on the series of events, sources said that Sharma Brothers (Sham Lal Sharma and Madan Lal Sharma) are elated over apparent cornering of their bête-noire.
