Nepotism in PHE, I&FC department: AEEs sitting idle, AEs heading 40 sub divisions 10/9/2016 10:54:26 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 9:On the behest of a PDP Minister, the department of PHE/I&FC despite having sufficient number of Assistant Executive Engineers in department, has posted over 40 Assistant Engineers, as in-charge of sub divisions in valley. Sources told Early Times that around three dozen Assistant Engineers promoted in 2014, are awaiting their adjustments. "In October 2015, the government issued order of transfer/posting of 153 AEEs, where in only one promote AEE from valley was adjusted, while rest of the AEEs remained unadjusted", sources said, it exposed pick and choose policy prevailing the department in valley. "The department had deliberately left most of Sub Divisions vacant, to adjust recommendations of the Minister", sources said, and added meanwhile under political patronage theses AEs are calling the shots. "Recently the department prepared transfer list of 267 engineers, but due to intervention of Chief Minister's secretariat, the numbers were reduced to 57", sources said, and added that in Kashmir valley atleast 40 sub divisional offices of PHE/I&FC department are without AEEs, and being run by junior AE's. "These engineers are very influential having affiliations in political circles, some of PDP Ministers have pressed the department not to post any AEE in these sub division where their blue eyed AE's are functioning as AEEs", they said. "Pleasing his near and dear, the PDP Minister is not willing to post AEEs as incharge at sub divisions", sources claimed and added that media too had highlighted some cases where junior engineer are manning the subdivisions for last several years.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
