Locals rescue Army soldiers injured in road accident | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Oct 9: Despite daily clashes between the 'pro-freedom' demonstrators and security force personnel, locals today rescued three Army soldiers injured in a road accident on Srinagar-Jammu national highway in Srinagar. Official sources said that an Army vehicle turned turtle at Lasjan in Srinagar, resulting in injuries to three soldiers. They said the driver, who was one of the injured, was stuck in his seat and a high tension live wire was touching the vehicle. However, ignoring their personal grievances and risking their lives, the locals rushed to the spot and rescued all three soldiers. Meanwhile, life remained crippled for the 93rd day today due to curfew, restrictions and strike called by the separatists in Kashmir valley. The current unrest, which was triggered by the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) commander Burhan Wani and two other militants in an encounter at Anantnag on July 8, has left 86 civilians dead and over 10000 injured in security force action. |
