KVM urges district administration for sustainable control over Dengue | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Oct 9: A deputation of Kathua Vikas Manch (KVM) called on Ramesh Kumar, District Development Commissioner Kathua in his office chamber the other day and sought the attention of district administration and particularly that of health department towards the havoc causing dengue. While expressing serious concern over the fast spreading dengue virus in the vicinity of Kathua and its surroundings, the members of the Manch pointed out that considerable number of dengue cases have been reported during the past few days and the situation had assumed alarming position in the surroundings of industrial units and residential colonies of labor classes in Hatli Morh and Govindsar areas. They demanded adequate preventive measures to be ensured to combat the risk of aforesaid menace. The members of the Manch also reiterated the demands of developing erstwhile pond near Kalibari as recreational park and construction of a passenger shed near district hospital Kathua on National highway NH-A1. They also exhorted upon the need of setting up of toilet blocks and parking zones at properly identified sites in the city. The issue of installation of electric lights in the divider portion of DC office to new bus stand road and resumption of construction work of interstate bus stand and south campus of Jammu University was also taken up during the meeting. The District Development Commissioner gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured appropriate action from the administration side. The deputation was led by Ram Murti Sharma president of the Manch and comprised of Pitamber Dutt Sharma, Saroop Chander, Kuldeep Kumar Mahotra, Babu Ram Bhagat, Sat Pal Gupta, Jagdish Singh Slathia, G.S. Katal, Khem Raj Sharma, Rajeev Mahajan, and many others. |
