Sarooi residents rile over lack of basic amenities at school | | | Sarfraz Chak Early Times Report Mandi, Nov 3: situated at about ten kilometres away from Mandi tehsil headquarter, the sleepy village Sarooi is facing the lack of basic facilities at local school resulting resentment brewed among the locals against administration and state government. According to the sources the village has a Government Primary School since 1982, but due to the negligence of concerned authorities the poor students are suffering. "Students and parents have resentment brewing against the concerned authorities who yet have noy upgraded the facilities at this over two decades old schools. Showing their anguish over the carelessness of higher authorities of the concern department, locals asked why the authorities are not providing building and other related facilities to students despite the government claims to build a good infrastructure for quality education especially in up-country areas. Locals also alleged the students are forced to sit under the shade of a tree and open during normal routine and have an unofficial holiday during rainy season. According to sources the school has provided only three students for village who have completed their gradation degree for 34 years, which itself tells of poor facilities made available by the education department. Locals also have appealed to Deputy Commissioner Poonch Muhammad Harun Malik to intervene the matter and direct concern authorities to provide school building, toilets and other basic requirements to the students of the said backward village. Here it also needs to mention that village still lacks good road connectivity, health facilities and other basic services reasons better known to officials at the helms of affairs. |
