Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 3: The slogans of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) to end discrimination with Jammu have proved dismally hollow with the cryptic silence of party on the meager representation of Jammu youth in various posts in government departments.
The selection of only one candidate from Jammu out of total 26 posts of Junior Statistical Assistant in the Office of Director General of Economics and Statistics is latest example of continued discrimination of successive governments against Jammu region.
On 29/10/2016, the lists of selected candidates for the posts of Junior Statistical Assistants was advertised in newspapers but to utter shock of Jammu youth, there was only one youth from Jammu province in the open category, while 25 selected candidates are from Kashmir province out of total 26 posts.
The only selected candidate from Jammu province was Sahil Mehta of Bishnah Jammu while the remaining 25 are from Kashmir province.
These 25 selected candidates under Open merit category are Shabir Ahmad Khan of Budgam,Tariq Ahmed Lone of Kulgam, Showkat Rashid of Shopian, Waseem Ahmad Sheikh of Baramulla, Abdul Salam Rather of Pulwama, Ishfaq Ahmad Mandloo of Baramulla, Jahangeer Ahmad Mir of Kulgam, Abid Aziz of Anantnag, Nazeer Hussain Bazaz of Srinagar, Aamir Rehman Bhat of Kulgam.
Ghulam Nabi Mir of Anantnag, Naseer Ahmad Malik of Ganderbal, Nighat Mukhtar of Anantnag, Shahnaz Gul of Srinagar, Mujeeb Rasool Mantoo of Srinagar, Bilal Ahmad Parry of Kulgam, Tariq Ahmad Bhat of Shopian, Bilal Ahmad Parry of Kulgam, M. Idrees Mughloo of Srinagar, Muzafar Ahmad Dass of Pulwama, Mir Sayir Fayaz of Ganderbal, Fozia Amin of Srinagar, Nazir Ahmad Wani of Budgam, Rameesa Ashraf of Ganderbal and Rizwan-ul Zaman Dar of Pulwama.
In the RBA category out of six seats only one is from Jammu while five are from Kashmir province.
Naveen Sharma of Chatroo Kishtwar is from Jammu province while Ashaq Hussain Wagay of Shopian, Firdous Ahmad Sheikh of Kupwara, Mohammad Arsalan Shafi of Budgam, Hilal Ahmad Shah of Pulwama and Reyaz Ahmad Gatoo of Anantnag are from Kashmir province.
Moreover, in SC Category all three are from Jammu province, including Kuldeep Kumar from Billawar Kathua, Shiv Kumar from Shahzadpur Jammu an Sukhvinder Pal from Chinore Jammu.
In ST category all were from Ladakh, including Imran Ali from Bogdang Leh, Stanzin Ishay of Mulbekh Kargil, Johar Ali from Hagnis, Kargil, Baqir from Apatee Kargil and Mukhtar Ahmad from Hagnis Kargil.
The real colour of self proclaimed champions of Jammu cause that is BJP leaders, have totally exposed, which is evident from their cryptic silence on these recruitments, says Sushant Kumar of Jammu, adding, "Jammu youth is being discriminated in the recruitment process, which was found during the selection of Assistant Professors by Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission in English, Mathematics and Physics subjects".
