CM unhappy with administrative response to Pak firing victims | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 3: The Chief Minister is reportedly unhappy with the arrangements put in place by the administration for the victims of Pakistan firing. She has directed officials to put in a mechanism in place that difficulties faced by affected people do not go unnoticed. Mehbooba Mufti is reportedly perturbed over media reports and also allegations by the opposition that border people are not being attended properly and they are left to fend themselves. NC working president Devender Rana, one of the few leaders close to the former CM Omar Abdullah, has criticized the government for the same. Even the parents of the little girl Pari, injured in the Pakistan firing, are also critical of the response of the government. "The CM has gone through all the reports and is also getting ground reports from the party cadre. She is disturbed and has told the administration that unlike in Kashmir, where administration is having tough task at hand the same doesn't hold for the Jammu region. She has made it clear that any laxity will be dealt sternly," said a senior official. The official said that while she is conscious of the fact that her party cadre has some limitation on account of the alliance with the BJP, which has primary base in this region, she has now issued directions to the party cadres to mobilize all the resources for helping people in distress. "The party did quite a good job during Kashmir floods; But the same is how missing here in the Jammu region, by parties swearing to be custodian of this region, so she has directed her own party to do a job in a manner that it can be a template for the parties. She has also asked the administrative heads to report to her directly in real time ," said the official.' |
