Kashmiris spurn shutdown calls of separatists | | | Raj Sandeep
Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 3: Shutdown calls repeated by separatists crippling daily life in valley are now no more a source of inspiration for general public with Hurriyat leaders making frantic efforts to perpetuate unrest in Kashmir. Media reports divulge the shutdown calendar of Hurriyat leaders for next week allocating various activities to people ranging from "Idhar Chalo Udher Chalo" calls, holding of seminars, school safety day, freedom march, freedom congregation, women day assembly etc. As per many locals, the general trend of obliging couple of separatists to follow shutdown calendar has gradually undergone tremendous change in the minds of people with majority in the state, especially inhabitants of Kashmir, understanding the wicked motive of separatist leader like old hawk Syed Ali Shah Geelani only interested to continue his failed modus operandi to deceive the people of the valley for his vested interests. Taking a dig on the shutdown calendar, Santokh Mehta, former bureaucrat said that this calendar indicates last ditch attempt of separatists to perpetuate unrest who are desperate to partly keep the miscreants engaged for creating rumpus at different locations in Valley and also to put the security forces and whole administration on the tenterhooks to push back those taking law into their own hands. This primarily serves the cause of separatist leaders who are hell bent to see people of Kashmir in constant trouble and in a state of helplessness. Ridiculing the theory of separatists seeking Azadi by dint of issuing shutdown calls, Javid Ahmed Shah reminded the so called protagonists of Azadi that when there is no dearth of freedom virtually visible in the state after independence from the clutches of Britishers, what type of Azadi is haunting the mind of Geelani after he left serving the state as government employee. Is not it a ploy invented by old man for minting money for his own people and building castles in the air for commoners in Kashmir which is nothing short of deception, he questioned undauntedly. Bashir Ahmed said that when there is well established democratic set up in all the states of the country including Jammu and Kashmir and constitutional rights and duties are equal irrespective of caste, creed and community in the state at par with rest of the country, one fails to understand as to why they are trying to take the people of Kashmir for granted when majority of people in valley are eagerly waiting for normalcy to restore with other parts of the State viz Jammu and Ladakh vividly worried for the welfare of Kashmiries and totally against the misadventures of separatists. Kashmir watcher pleading not to be named said that under the garb of seeking Azadi and pushing people away from earning their livelihood for leading peaceful life as usual, disgruntled Hurriyat leaders still do not wish welfare of Kashmiries and do not want them to come out the slavish situation to which they have been made to live in Kashmir for the last four months giving shutdown calls. It was asserted by groups of people that separatists have lost the confidence of masses in the valley having understood the shutdown calls of tricky separatists who are squarely interested to run their mischievous shops of destabilizing whole system in the state including education of young generation and disallowing general public to run their routine work and business establishments till the whole Kashmir is pushed to devastation. Let commoners rise to the occasion to support the government for thwarting any further attempt of separatists to dictate calls and show them (separatists) their real face of treachery being played with the people in the state to remain in the lime light for appeasing their bosses sitting abroad feeding them financially. |
