Early Times Report Jammu, Nov 3: In a bid to curb the violations of the traffic norms especially by the school buses and tractor trolleys, the traffic Police has initiated a special drive under the close supervision of SP Traffic City, Jammu to ensure safety measures for school going children outside the schools and people on roads. Superintendent of Police (SP) Traffic City, said, "During drive the buses of schools viz Jodhamal Public School Channi, Heritage School Sainik Colony, Carmel Convent School Kunjwani Jammu, Guru Gobind HSS Kunjwani, Presentation Convent School Gandhi Nagar, DPS School Residency Road, S P Higher Secondary School Kacchi Chowni, Dream Land Public School Janipur, K C International/ KC Public School/ KC Guru Kul Paloura, St Peter School Jewel Chowk St Xavier Convent School, Barnai KV No.1, Gandhi Nagar Dogra HSS School Shastri Nagar were checked to put a check on traffic violations committed by Matadors/Mini-Buses/Buses/Omni Vans/Auto Rickshaws engaged for ferrying the school going children violating the guidelines/directions issued by the Supreme Court of India/High Court J&K." "During special drive, 29 School Buses/Mini Buses were seized on spot for violating the M.V. Act/Rules besides 75 vehicles have also been Challaned during the drive, he said. SP Traffic further said, "The aim/motive behind such drive is to check the menace of traffic violations to ensure safety of school going students and to ascertain whether the driver of the particular vehicles is in possession of valid driving license/other allied documents." He also said, "Further to restrict/stop the entry of tractor/trolleys in the Municipal Limits of Jammu City, 03 tractor/trolleys were also seized to ensure smooth traffic regulation and management in the city. SP Traffic City, Jammu added that such type of special drives shall be carried out by Traffic Police City Jammu in future also to maintain effectiveness and to curb the violations under M.V Act. |
