Jammu, Nov 11: In a petition, challenging government order No 100-Rev(S) of August 4, 2016, whereby a son of the forest minister has been allowed to utilise agricultural land for industrial purpose, high court judge B S Walia today directed to get measurement done by a duly qualified PWD person of the distance from the site where stone crusher is proposed to be set up and public utilities. The order permitting the minister's son to set up stone crusher has been issued by revenue secretary. The court directive came in a petition filed by Rattno Devi and 23 other inhabitants of Dhanna in Basholi, Kathua. The court directed to carry out measurement of the distance from a duly qualified PWD person by associating a representative of petitioners who would be at liberty to submit proof with regard to the distance of the site where the stone crusher is to be established from the institutions mentioned in clause 5, 7, 9 and 12. The advocate general stated that the measurement would be got carried out on November 21, 2016 at 11 am when the petitioners' representative should also remain present there. Justice Walia directed that pursuant to the inspection, the report be filed in the court along with a copy to the petitioners as well as respondents. The record of measurement made be also produced in the court through the official who was deputed to conduct the measurement, he ordered. (JNF) |
