JCB used for drain cutting, Mandi-Poonch road blocked; people suffer 12/10/2016 10:46:46 PM Early Times Report Poonch, Dec 10: The dilapidated conditions of Poonch to Mandi road is already problem for locals of Mandi, Loran and Sawjian and other areas of Mandi tehsil. A contractor with the involvement of concern department and local police blocked the road. According to the sources contractor of Star Light (company) is using JCB machine for earth cutting, due to which the road used by than seventy thousands people of Mandi tehsil was blocked. Sources informed Early Times that the concern junior engineer, who is now out of country is allegedly involved in this scam. Driver Union Mandi Poonch showed their resentment over the negligence of district administration especially they allegedly that the police is not taking any initiative in this regard. They alleged that the station house officer Mandi, under whose jurisdiction it falls is looking involved as he did not directed the BPP Chaktroo to look into the matter and save the public property "the road". In this regard while connected with executive engineer of public work (R&B) department Mushtaq Raina who said the concern AEE informed him that only breaker is used to break the stone. After spot verification it was proved that JCB is used nightly for drain cutting. A labourer informed our sources that contractor uses JCB for cutting while others are being ignored by their basic right.
