Jammu, Dec 12: Rotary Club of Jammu City organised Winter Clothes Distribution Camp here today for distribution of warm clothes among migrant labourers at the Labourer hutments near Marble Market, Trikuta Nagar Extension. The clothes had been brought in by all the members of the Club and included clothes for men, women and children. Warm blankets were also distributed among the residents of the hutments of migrant labourers. Speaking on the occasion Arvind Sharma, Sub Judge, Baramulla, who was the Chief Guest on the occasion, lauded the humanitarian efforts of the Club and said that such initiatives at the grassroots level go a long way in helping the people who need support from the society. Rtn Harpreet Singh, Project Director for the Winter Clothes Distribution Camp, said that it was the endeavour of the Club to bring some solace to the people living in the migrant hutments as they are inadequately clothed to face the cold weather, Rtn Anil Swaraj, Secretary, Rotary Club of Jammu City, emphasised the need to reach out to the marginalised sections of the society and said that in future also the Club would be undertaking projects to alleviate the sufferings of the underprivileged. Rtn. Ravinder Kaul, President of the Club, lauded the efforts of the members of the Club in organising the Camp and hoped that the future projects of the Club would also see similar empathy and enthusiasm on the part of all members. Rtn Robin Mehta, Rtn Adeep Mehta, Rtn. Sanjeev Vaid, Rtn Sanjay Bansal, Rtn Sandeep Beri, Rtn Gurdev Singh Sodhi, Rtn Chaitanya Sharma, Rtn Arun Ninawat, Rtn Harvinder Singh, Rtn Mayank Vaid, Rtn Anniet Kour and Rtn Aishwarya enthusiastically participated in the Camp and made every effort to make it successful. |
