Date sheet issued six days before Exam Examination puts students in tizzy 12/12/2016 10:57:45 PM S D Thakur Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 12: A large number of students, especially those hailing from remote areas are in a fix as the authorities of Jammu University have issued a date sheet just six days before the commencement of exams. According to aggrieved students, the controller of examination has declared date sheet for the Examination of PGDBM Semester 1st for both regular as well as the DDE Students on Dec 9 followed by three government holidays giving barely two days to the aspiring students to inquire about their examinations. Virender Sharma, a Student from Udhampur told Early Times that the JUauthorities vide notification number: Exam/Prof-1/PGDBM-1/321-50 Dt. 08-12-2016 issued date sheet for the examination of Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM) therein publishing it on 9th of December (link http://www.coeju.com/det.aspx?type=2&id=933) merely 6 days before exam, out of which 3 days are holidays thereby giving the students only two days for due inquiries, if any. Another student of Reasi district said, "I came to know about the date sheet from one of my friends as I do not have any access to Internet". He added that he hadn't got his Roll no slip which is mandatory to sit in exam. "I shall have to go to the University on Tuesday and get my Roll no slip instead of preparing for the exam" he rued. When contacted by Early Times, Sanjeev Mahajan, Controller Examination, Jammu University said, " I don't have any clear idea about the publication of the date sheet you are talking about". He added "the date sheets are to issued by the recommendations of the HOD's of the particular department and there is no criteria regarding the number of fixed days in case of semester exams as the students studying in semester pattern are much aware of the academic calendar of the department".
