PS Bali Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 13: Miscreants managed to steal question papers from a government Boys Higher Secondary School Reasi, located a few meters away from the police station, sources said. They said the question papers for the subjects History, Physics and Education of class 11th were stolen from the school building after breaking the doors and wardrobes. "The examination for the summer and winter zone was scheduled to be held on December 13, but miscreants on the intervening night barged into the school building and decamped with bundles of question papers of History and Physics, while as couple of question papers of Education subject were also missing from the bundle," said sources, adding that the miscreants smartly stole the papers of the evening shift instead of morning shift. If sources are to be believed this theft has caused loss of over approximately Rs 20 lakh to the department, as due to cancellation of papers, the stationary cost has to be borne by the department. "Owing to the location of the school, which is near bus stand and apathetic approach of the police, it has become the safe haven for the drug addicts, especially during evening hours," said sources. However, talking to Early Times, SSP admitted that the school is adjacent to the police station, but the school management never reported insecurity in the area and moreover, they had their own guard. The matter has surfaced after two holidays, the school management today found door and wardrobes broken and papers missing. They immediately informed the police. The police team led by SDPO Reasi-Mujeeb-Ul-Rehman reached the spot for investigation and case under FIR No187/16 under section 380 of RPC was registered at Reasi police station. However, sources said that the police team has also identified two suspects behind the theft. "During preliminary investigation, the police team cracked lead from the WhatsApp sharing of stolen question papers and two youth in this regard have been identified," said sources, adding that the school guard has also been questioned. Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education has issued a notification regarding cancellation of the respective exams. Vide notification No.F(Exam-II) B/JD?2016, dated 13-12-2016, reads that the papers Viz, History and Physics (Term-I) (Summer/Winter Zone), Jammu Province of Higher Secondary Examination Part-I (11th class) under continuous and comprehensive evaluation scheme, November/December session 2016, which was scheduled to be conducted on 13-12-2016 has been cancelled. Notification further reads that Education paper (Term-I) (Summer/Winter Zone), Jammu Province of aforesaid examination which is scheduled to be conducted on 14-12-2016 has also been postponed till further orders. |
