Atleast dozen animals perish in fire

Poonch, Dec 12: Atleast a dozen cattle were charred to death in blaze which broke at a house at Mendhar Town of Poonch district during night hours where function was underway to celebrate Eid-e-Milad (SAW) the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
According to eyewitnesses, a Milad 'Majlis' was going at the house of Abdul Khaliq, who is TSO Mendhar in Food and Supplies Department and large number of villagers were participating in this religious occasion when the fore broke out.
The witnesses said suddenly fire broke out and engulfed the whole cowshed resulting into death of dozen of cattle.
Reports said the participants ran helter-skelter for their savior but 12 animals (buffalos and goats) got perished in this fire. However there is no report of injury to any human, reports said. Meanwhile Police have started a probe into the incident and so far cause of fire yet has not been ascertained.
