| Govt accused of shielding fake degree holders | | | arly Times Report
Doda, Dec 14: Department of Education seems to be initiating some secret efforts to enact some guidelines that would allow the fake degree holders to legalize their degrees. As in 2014 hundreds of teachers were promoted through DPC vide DSEJ/NG/M Prom/7255-68 Dated 11-02-2014 ad Master during the year 2014. A complaint was registered in the SVO regarding the genuineness of degrees of various promoted teachers . As the state vigilance organisation ( SVO) initiated the enquiry it was found that large number of teachers possessing fake degrees have managed to enlist their names in the promotion list. SVO from time to time sorts all the information regarding these teachers from department till date through various letters/communications. More than two years have passed but still Jammu and Kashmir Govt, especially Education Ministry has failed to take any final decision in this regard that either to cancel the promotion of teachers who had managed fake degrees from various tuck shops / shady institutions and even from the institutions which had no account in Union grant Commission (UGC) or Distance Education Council (DEC) or to shut the eyes and promote these fake degree holders as masters in Education department ,so that the shops opened by some people to sell these degrees may not become defunct. Union grant commission (UGC) a recognizing authority working under MHRD. Govt. of India has categorically included these universities in the category of fake universities. Department of Education under the leadership of Nayeem Akhter Indrabi who remained controversial in media since the formation of coalition government in for making transparency in the department seems to be completely failed to take a decision by eliminating the fake degree holders from the list of promotees which clearly indicates that Mafia group who operates the fake degrees racket in the state is very much powerful than any other and for these groups change of govt. or ministries does not have any effect . It is pertinent to mention here that Director school Education Jammu (DSEJ) and DSEK gave the written certificate on the approval of the regularization of RET teachers that No ReT has been regularized as general teachers in this list who have acquired their degrees from Jamia Urdu Alighar , PRIST , Magadh and other fake universities . The question arise here why Kashmir university is giving certificate of genuineness to a degree /course obtained from fake university which is neither recognized by UGC nor affiliated to DEC and is not even the member of Association of "All Indian universities" .Tall claims of Naeem Akhter, Education Minister regarding the reforms in Education System seems nothing on grounds but only the words in air . |
