Guv’s rule to continue for longer period? | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 12: Governor NN Vohra's administration on Thursday took a very significant decision on the political appointees in the State. It asked chairmen, vice-chairmen, advocate general, additional advocate general, deputy advocate general, counsels and so on to put in their papers by Friday morning. It didn't sack them; it only politely told these political appointees to resign, as they were appointed by the PDP-BJP coalition Government, which ceased to exist after the demise of Chief Minister Mufti Sayeed.
Earlier, NC working president Omar Abdullah and JKPCC chief Ghulam Ahmad Mir had urged Governor Vohra to ask the political appointees to resign and if they refused to resign, they must be sacked. Their argument was that they had no moral right to hold the official positions after the death of Mufti Sayeed. They were right.

Jammu, Feb 12 Advocate General, Jahangir Iqbal Ganai today resigned from his post after being asked by Government to do so. "Immediately on the instructions (from the Governor), I resigned and choose not to continue despite request made to do so later", Jehangir told.
"Yesterday I was asked to resign by 11 AM today and I have sent my resignation to authorities at 10.45 AM," he said adding "if there is no trust in Advocate General, there is no fun in continuing".
