Police officer challenges SSP's order, continues to occupy JKTDC hut at Pahalgam | | |

anantnag, Sept 23: Throwing official orders to winds, a police officer of SDPO rank in this southern district continues to occupy a JKTDC hut at Pahalgam- hired during 2016 Amarnath Yatra.
Official sources said that the officer, instead of looking after the prevailing law and order situation in violence affected areas, continues to stay at hut dehired by the police department last month.
"Police department had hired few JKTDC huts at Pahalgam for accommodation of some officers and establishment of some essential units at Pahalgam. While most of the officers have vacated them but one of them haven't so far," a JKTDC official pleading not be named said.

JAMMU, Sept 23: A police officer posted in Jammu district is alleged to have got a bribe of Rs 1 lakh for releasing two heroin smugglers and a man, who was caught with a woman, without registration of any case against them.
He struck both the deals without taking the SHOs of concerned police stations into confidence, police sources alleged.

According to official documents in possession of Early Times, the total amount of revenue budget approved for promotion/publicity of tourism in the state is Rs 1280 lakh.
