Big 7-wkt win for CWC in CGEWCC T20

Jammu, Apr 9: Centre Water Commission (CWC) today registered an emphatic seven-wicket win against Geological Survey of India (GSI) to reach the semifinals stages of the ongoing Twenty20 Cricket Tournament under the banner of Centre Government Employees Welfare Coordination Committee (CGEWCC) at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here.
Batting first, after winning the toss, GSI lost all their wickets for just 65 runs in 16.3 overs. Arun Dev remained top scorer with 14 runs while Parveen added 11. No other batsman could touch the double figure mark.
From CWC, Ankush and SK Shukla bowled deadly spells taking away three wickets each. Brij Bushan bagged two while Bilala nd Manish shared apiece each.
In reply, CWC attained the goal making 68 runs in 10.1 overs for the loss of three wickets. Raj Kumar steered the team to an easy win contributing 31 runs off 28 deliveries. Brij Bushan contributed 11 runs to the team's total. Varun, Tarsem and Deepak were the wicket takers from GSI.
Today's match officiated by Shashi Jamwal and Sanjeev Kumar as umpires while Rattan Lal was scorer. Among those present were chairman of CGEWCC sports committee, BS Bhan, Subash Bhagat, Mahesh Sharma, Ashok Chadha and Desh Kumar Sharma.
NEXT MATCH: Intelligence Bureau (IB) shall take on Accountant General (AG) Office XI at 9 am tomorrow.
