to sort out Homeland Issue Omar, Separatists selling Homeland issue for Personal | KP's for Tripartite Committee | | Gains: Tickoo Javaid Naikoo Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Apr 9: Ruling out possibility of establishing a Separate Homeland in Kashmir, Kashmiri Pandits (KP's) said that mainstream and separatist politicians are busy in selling 'Homeland' issue for their personal gains among Kashmiries and demanded formation of a Tripartite Committee of KP's, Mainstream politicians and Separatists to solve the issue. Accusing the mainstream politicians particularly, the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah and Separatist factions of doing politics over the issue, KPSS today said that establishing separate homeland for KP's in present Kashmiri is not possible because of varied reasons and demanded that state Government must formulate a tripartite committee comprising members of mainstream political parties, separatist factions and KP's to sort out the issue once for all without creating confusion among common masses who are peace lovers. Tickoo said the state government cannot afford to provide security to the returning KPs. He, however, lashed out at omar Abdullah for changing his stand on the issue. "Omar Abdullah was also in favour of separate homeland for KP's. Why has he changed his stand now. Why do they jump to conclusions without taking us on board," he said. Tickoo said that 'It was Omar Abdullah only who met union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh last year when he was in power and agreed to establish separate homeland for KP's on 560 Kanals of land and it is astonishing to see that now when he is in opposition he is busy in selling homeland issue for his personal gains. Another KP leader, Dr Arjan Nath Pandita, Chairman Premnath Bhat Memorial committee while talking to early times said that 'complete separate homeland' is not possible and KP's don't want any such settlement in Kashmir which can create chaos and commotion among Kashmiries living in Kashmir and KPs living in other parts of the country, but there is possibility that government can create a sort of colonies in each district for KP's where KP's of that district can live together at one place but every activity must be in consultation with KPs and common Kashmiries. Meanwhile amid raging political debate on Pandit composite townships, Home Minister Rajnath Singh today said that 'rehabilitation of KP's will be undertaken as promised. He said that decision taken by the central government regarding rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits has not changed and added that 'we are concerned about the security of all KPs, and all people in the Valley' Singh's remarks came after the Chief Minister, Mufti Muhammad Syed today in Assembly said that "Government has no plans to set up separate clusters for settlement of Kashmiri Pandits in the Valley." |
