Jammu, Apr 9: Despite clear cut order issued by Transport Commissioner J&K Jammu to repatriate Junior Mechanical Engineer to parent department, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer Baramullah HQ. Sopore was reluctant to relive the said junior Mechanical Engineer even after 9 days. As per the details available with "Early Times" Commissioner Secretary to Government Public Works (R&B) Department vide Government Order No. 47 PW (R&B) of 2015 dated 26-02-2015 in reference to O.M. No GAD(Adm)145/2012 dated 1-07-2014 from General Administration Department ordered that Parwaz Ahmed Junior Engineer (Mechanical) on deputation to transport department was hereby recalled and his services are kept at the disposal of Chief Engineer Mechanical Engineering Department Kashmir for further adjustment. Acting on the government directions, Transport Commissioner J&K, Jammu vide order No. TC/JK/Estt./2015/167/2580-81 dated 31-03-2105 directed ARTO Baramullah to relieve Parwaz Ahmed to his parent department immediately under intimation to his office. Even though clear cut directions from Transport Commissioner, ARTO Baramullah did not relieve the said junior Engineer to his parent department and thus violated the government as well as transport commissioner orders. As per sources, the delay on part of the ARTO in relieving the JE is because he wants to help him. Sources said the case of Parwaz Ahmed is not a lone case where Transport Department showed reluctance in relieving the Engineers of Mechanical Department presently on deputation in transport department that too in violation of rules and regulation while at the same time R&B department faces the dearth of Mechanical Engineers as several among these are presently on deputation. When Minister for Transport Abdul Gani Kholi was approached for his comments, he said that the issue is already in government notice and said that soon the matter will be addressed. Similar views were also expressed by Secretary Transport Baseer Khan who assured to look into the matter. |
