UKF takes on separatist leaders on return of KPs to valley | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Apr 9: United Kashmiriyat Forum (UKF) has asked the separatist leaders to mind their own business and not to meddle in affairs of Kashmiri Pandits more so the return of migrant Kashmiri Pandits to the valley. In a statement, UKF Chairman Bharat Raina said that separatist leaders like Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mohammad Yasin Malik have no right whatsoever to talk on behalf of Kashmiri Pandits with respect to their return to Kashmir valley. Bharat said that both Geelani and Malik have failed to safeguard the interests of Kashmiri Pandit community and as such they have got no jurisdiction to talk about the return of Kashmiri Pandits. "Malik has of late talked a lot about the composite culture of the Kashmir valley. But despite claiming to be a champion of rights of communities he has failed to save the religious places of Kashmiri Pandits in the Kashmir more so in Srinagar city. It was his responsibility to ensure that no damage is caused to the temples in Kashmir," said UKF Chairman. Bharat said that 376 temples in the Kashmir valley have been turned into garbage sites with the separatist leaders never uttering a single word against the same. He alleged that the separatist leaders are exploiting the sentiments of Kashmiri people by opposing the settlement of Kashmiri Pandits in dedicated colonies. "Kashmiri Pandits are the main stakeholders in the plan aimed at their return to Kashmir valley. They need to be given a secure environment and same is possible in the dedicated colonies. This may come up as the first step in the overall process of a dignified and honourable return of the Kashmiri Pandits to Kashmir," said UKF Chairman. |
