Early Times Report
Jammu, May 8: The lackadaisical attitude of Rural Development Department (RDD) could be gauged from the fact that in 2013 to accelerate development, it had notified 22 posts of Village Level Worker (VLW) for district Kathua, but after lapse of nearly three years, the recruitment process is still incomplete. Sources in the department informed Early Times that the JKSSB had declared the result of 22 posts of VLW on 22 November 2014, following which it published list of selected candidates, asking them to furnish their documents in the department on February5, 2015 and had given 21 days time period. The department, sources said, as per laid down procedure allotted 15 days to submit their documents on March 5, 2015 and issued final circular, allotting 7 days on 17 April 2015. "But after more than 10 days from the date of completion of time period for furnishing of documents, the same department has neither published any notice and not issued the waiting list, leaving waiting list candidates in quandry?. "The waiting candidates are eagerly waiting for the list but the process is running at snail's pace", a candidate said, adding, "Something is fishy in the entire episode as the second notice was also issued after nearly a month, rather than 15 days". They alleged that department may have been planning to engage some candidates from backdoor. Pertinently, the recruitment agency, Jammu Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) had advertised 22 posts of VLWs, including two posts for Scheduled caste, Scheduled tribe- four and Registered Backward Area- seven with notification Number 362 on April 2013 and conducted examination on September 14, 2013 and declared result on November 22, 2014. When this correspondent contacted to RDD Directorate office Jammu, the officials said that due to Darbar move, the department couldn't publish the waiting list, adding that the final notification would be published within one or two days. |
