Story telling competition organized | | | Early Times Report Kathua, May 17: The Pathways International School, Kathua organized an in-house story telling competition for the students of Class I to Class V. In Story Telling Competition, Nitisha Sharma stood first, Rohan Sharma stood second while consolation prizes were given to Bhoomika and Deepika in the Senior Category. In the Junior Category, Prikshit won the first prize while the second prize was jointly taken by the students of Class II & the teacher in-charge who presented a group story telling act. The competition was judged by Principal, Kunal Anand, who after the completion of the competition distributed prizes among the winners and appreciated the efforts put in by the teachers and parents for training the tiny tots. The stage was managed by Ms. Monika HOD English and Dr. Minoti Bakhri Activity Coordinator presented the vote of thanks. Ms Shivani Primary. Coordinator and Ms. Rishu Pre Primary Coordinator were also present. Principal, Kunal Anand also elaborated upon the benefits of storytelling. He said that story telling strengthens brain development. Without text and pictures, storytelling teaches children how to listen deeply, visualize characters and remember a sequence of events. It not only supports literacy via listening to the rhythmic cadences of the mother tongue, it can convey morals, values and wisdom. He encouraged the teachers to frequently take up such activities in order to build confidence amongst the students and learn active. |
