Jammu, May 17: The Jammu Students Morcha (JSM) condemned the University authorities for disobeyed the Governor (Chancellor Jammu University) order for one person given one posts in the university administration. Addressing the media persons, state president Vikram Kumar said that senior professors were calling the shots as they had been holding more than one prized position since long, notwithstanding it was poorly upsetting the normal functioning of the varsity. "Instead of adhocism and giving additional charge to some favourites, the Vice-Chancellor should go for a viable solution by filling these posts on permanent basis, "he said. He alleged that Dr Manoj K Dhar has been occupying five key positions in the university. Dr Manoj K Dhar has been portion as Register. Dhar is also holding the charge of Director, School of Biotechnology, which comprises three wings, bio-chemistry, microbiology and bio-technology, Co-ordinater DST Special Science Package. He further alleged that Prof. Rajnikant has been portioning as Chief-Coordinator all campuses, Director Ramnagar Campus. He is also holding the charge of Director, ASC. Prof. Dhian Singh Bhau has been given the charge of Director Physical Education, University of Jammu and also holding the charge of Director, Yoga. He added that another senior Prof.Jasber Singh has been given the charge of Provost Boys Hostel, Chairman NSS, besides Head FM Centre in campus. Prof. Posh Charak has been given the charge of Dean Research, University of Jammu and also holding the charge of Dogri Head. Similarly, Prof. Parvinder Kour has been given the charge of Head department of Hindi, University of Jammu and also holding the charge of Punjabi Head. Prof Depankar Sen has been given charge HOD Economic Deptt and OSD to examination Wing. Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, who was simply appointed as Coordinator, is at present holding the position of Director Reasi Campus, and Coordinator, all campuses. He demanded that the need of the hour is to decentralize powers. It is highly condemnable that some professors have been given prized positions at the cost of normal functioning of the university. They appealed the Chancellor of University to take cognizance of it and initiate measures to streamline the functioning. Among those who were present on the occasion included Renu Gupta, Rohit Gupta, Vikrant Singh, Raman Gupta and Sanjay Gupta. |
