Forest Department retrieves over 200 kanals land from encroachers

DODA, May 17: Continuing its drive against the forest land encroachers, a team of Forest officials today and FPF led by Range Officer Bhalesa Azad Hussain under the supervision of T B Singh, DFO Bhaderwah have retrieved nearly 102 kanals Forest land in compartment no. 107/Bh and 108/Bh of Bhales Range.
As per reports, the Forest land was encroached many years back by the locals of the area namely Sharzma son of Ali Mohammad, Nazir Ahmed son of Mohammad Sattar, Ali Goni son of Abdul Ibrahim, youg Raj son of Hoishar Singh, Shamlal son of Munshi Ram etc . The officials faced stiff resistance from the encroachers and even stones were pelted on them but the Forest officials succeeded in their eviction process. More than 200 kanals of Forest land was retrieved in the Bhaderwah Forest Div so far during past one month in different compartments besides seizure of illicit Timber.
