Poonch zone wins Hockey, Football titles 9/9/2015 11:37:09 PM EARLY TIMES REPORT POONCH, Sept 9: Poonch zone bagged both football and hockey titles beating their opponents in the finals of the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abihiyan (under-16 boys) Tournament at block level held at Sports Stadium here under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS). In total three teams each representing as many zones of the block contested for the top honours in these events. In hockey final, Poonch zone trounced Kanuyian zone by three goals to nil. Earlier, in a preliminary round match, Kanuyian outplayed Nangali zone 2-1. Similarly, in football title clash, Poonch zone beat the same opponent in Kanuyian zone 2-1. To reach the final, Poonch zone defeated Nangali zone by a solitary goal. Prof Jasbir Singh was chief guest in the finals while retired SAI hockey coach, Sham Lal Sharma and incharge stadium, Nirdosh Kumar as also Ravinder Singh were among other prominent present.
