G S Asgotra Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 9: University of Jammu has adopted dual yardsticks for its employees who were appointed on the same post in terms of pay grades offered to them. Source informed Early Times that the employees working as Computer Assistant in Main Campus or Satellite campuses of Jammu University, have been getting two pay grades. They further said that there were no disparities in pay grade for the post of computer assistant, since the post was introduced. "The university had fixed the pay scale as Rs 5200-28200 with GP2400 (4000-6000) (pre revised) for the post", the said. But, nearly 12 employees (Computer Assistant) have been blessed with a higher pay grade, i.e 9300-34800 with GP 4200 (5000-8000) by the administration, for reasons best known to them. "Two years back, 12 employees who were getting higher grade had met Commissioner Secretary Finance and presented a representation regarding increasing pay scale grade. After getting nod from commissioner secretary, the Varsity authority had increased the pay scale of these employees. "But unfortunately, remaining employees who were not part of representation that met Commissioner Secretary, are still waiting to get increased pay scale (Rs 5000-8000)", he revealed on the condition of anonymity" they added. They further said that they repeatedly apprised to Vice Chancellor, RD Sharma or MPS Isher, the former Vice Chancellor but to no avail. "It seems that despite being Chancellor of the varsity, Governor NN Vohra and Pro Chancellor, Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed had disowned plights of lower rung officials", he regretted. Registrar, Prof. Keshav Sharma, when contacted said that he was not aware of any such disparities. "Since I'm unaware about it, I can't comment", he added |
