Meteoroid case': SHO Dooru attached over hushing up case, 10 Lakhs recovered | | | Saahil Suhail Early Times Report
Anantnag, Sept 9: Senior police authorities have attached Station House Officer (SHO) Dooru Rafiq Ahmad Shah for allegedly helping the accused to flee with some rock pieces in much publicized 'meteoroid case' after recovering Rs 10 lakhs as enticement. Police sources told Early Times that on Sunday at around 7:00pm SHO Dooru Rafiq Ahmad Shah laid a nak at Hilar Dooru and intercepted a vehicle (Grande I-10) from which he reportedly recovered a black stone- suspected to be a 'Meteoroid rock.' Sources said that two occupants of vehicle were also detained. However the SHO allegedly released duo at around 2:00 am after the duo paid him Rs 10 lakhs as an enticement. Sources said that anonymous person informed this Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir on Monday. "Accordingly IGP Kashmir immediately directed DIG South Kashmir to initiate action against the police officer," sources said. Following the directions from higher-ups, a team led by Additional SP, Aijaz Ahmad Mir on Monday raided the Police Station and recovered meteoroid rock and cash. "Police team after tracking call details of SHO and managed to recover cash from a person of Dooru area who was working as tout for the SHO," officer said, adding Blackstone resembling meteoroid was recovered from police station. SSP Anantnag, Abdul Jabber when contacted confirmed that SHO Dooru has been attached to with District Police Lines. "We are investigating the matter so it will immature to say anything. So far as we have only attached him (SHO)," he told media.
