Poonch, Oct 10: The District Development Manager, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Rajouri/Poonch organised awareness programmes on Financial Literacy. The programme was organized at Government Higher Secondary School, Chandak and Government Higher Secondary School, Bhata Durian, district Poonch. RP Singh, Principal, Government Higher Secondary School, Chandak and Munir Hussain, Vice principal, Government Higher Secondary School, Bhata Durian were chief Guests on the occasions. The programme was also attended by Mohd. Shafi Ayaz, Lead District Manager, Poonch, Anmol Singh, Coordinator, FLCC, Poonch, Ayoub Ahmad Khuroo, Director, J&K Bank-RSETI, Poonch in Govt. Higher Secondary School, Chandak and Anmol Singh, Coordinator, FLCC, Poonch and Jarnail Singh, branch head, J&K Bank, Bhata Durian, the staff and students of the schools. Des Raj District Development Manager, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), Rajouri/Poonch explained the participants the objective of organising the awareness programme on financial literacy. He highlighted NABARD schemes viz. Self Help Groups Scheme (SHGs), Joint Liability Goups (JLGS) and Farmers' Club. He also informed that NABARD is implementing WSHGs scheme in the district and motivated the participants to spread the message in their area about the scheme. The benefits of the WSHGs were explained in the camp. Anmol Singh, Coordinator, FLCC, Poonch highlighted the Prime Minister, Jan Dhan Yojna (PMJDY) and asked all the participants to open a account with the nearby branch. The students were explained, how to open an account with a bank. He also highlighted the education loan scheme for the students to pursue higher studies. Ayoub Ahmad Khuroo, Disrector, J&K Bank RSETI, Poonch informed that RSETI is working in Poonch to imparted training on various activities to unemployed youths. The unemployed youths should come forward get training on a particular activity and start their own units with the credit facilities from the banks. |
