| Despite getting hurt, Jammu people proved they believe in co-existence; foiled nefarious designs of hate mongers | | Er Rashid, Omar's NC teamed up to flare communal frenzy | | ET Report
Jammu, Oct 10: Former Chief Minister and National Conference Working President Omar Abdullah went all out to defend the trouble monger and MLA Langate Er Rashid for hosting a beef party at MLA hostel in Srinagar earlier this week.
Omar himself declared that no one can stop him from eating beef whether anybody likes it or not. "It seems NC had entered into a deal with Er Rashid to stall the proceedings of the Legislative Assembly by raking the beef issue. The MLA Langate enjoyed full support of NC and he succeeded in taking the House hostage and flaring up the communal passions," said an analyst.
He claimed that NC and Er Rashid had teamed up to trigger communal clashes in Jammu and Kashmir so that the 2008 like situation is repeated and entire J&K is set on fire. "As the assembly session ended on Saturday desperate attempts of the trouble monger MLA and his mentors couldn't achieve the desired results, but one thing is for sure that Er Rashid and Omar Abdullah's National Conference stand exposed before the masses," the analyst added.
Omar, who ruled Jammu and Kashmir, for the six years, seems to have forgotten that when he was the Chief Minister, state witnessed many troubles and he just acted as a mute spectator. Many people believe that Omar as a Chief Minister proved to be a disaster and most institutions during his tenure lost credibility. "Many commodities, including beef, which are banned in J&K, were sold openly as there was no accountability during his tenure," said an analyst.
He alleged, "Omar used to remain busy in his own world with twitter being the toy of his choice. He used to communicate through twitter and had no idea about the ground situation. Now when he is in opposition he is giving big lectures on governance and is trying to project himself and his party as the true representatives of people. However, someone needs to remind him that memory of the masses is not short lived. His 6-year rule proved to be the darkest period in the history of Jammu and Kashmir as he left no stone unturned to curb the rights of people."
The analyst said, "Er Rashid and NC made beef an issue to trigger communal frenzy and create a wedge between Hindu and Muslim communities. They were sure that beef party hosted by Rashid would prove to be a turning point and it would provoke the Hindu community. Spontaneous reaction of BJP legislators and people of Jammu region to the beef party was obvious as they were pushed to the wall."
He said that despite facing provocation people of Jammu exercised restraint and did not allow NC and Er Rashid to succeed in their nefarious designs. "People of Jammu have once again proved that they believe in co-existence but that doesn't mean that would be mauled by the Kashmir centric leadership. Sentiments of Hindu community have been hurt and they are demanding that Jammu should be delinked from Kashmir," the analyst claimed.
He said that Kashmir centric leadership should realize that Kashmir cannot exist without Jammu. "Kashmir is dependent on Jammu while Jammu is independent," the analyst added. |
