Jammu, Oct 10 : Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) presented musical play Gau-Dhan today in collaboration with Unison Cultural Troupe, Sangam True Art Production on the theme of Cow is our Mother. According to press release, the play was written and directed by ML Dogra, renowned writer and musical play director. Dogra is a former Assistant Director of Song and Drama Division, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Govt of India. The program was inaugurated by VK Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Govt of India as the Chief Guest. Romesh Chander, Event Director was the Guests of Honor. The programme featured the songs "Gau Humari Mata Hai", "Humara unse Maa-Bete ka nata hai", "Koi Bole Ram Koi Allah Bole", " Jinne Jadde Nike Hunde ase Gauya Charyiya- Kyoo Duudh Te Makhan Diya Nariya" and "Choti Choti Gaiyaa Chote Chote Gopal Chota sa Mera Madan Gopal" which was sung by renowned artists and students of BLSKS and music of the play was composed by Master Raju Bajgal. The Chief Guest lauded the innovative efforts of the organizers in making such colorful and attractive prog-rammes for public awareness. Earlier welcoming the audience Romesh Chander, highlighted the essence of the play & emphasized on the socio-cultural relevance of the cow in the Indian society. He brought out three important aspects. Firstly, "Kamdhenu", the sacred cow which grants all wishes and desires, is part & parcel of the Hindu mythology. Secondly, the Cow is deemed to be mother of Gods and is declared by Lord Brahma to be a proper object of worship. Lastly, the Cow plays an important role in the cult of Lord Krishna. It follows the cowherd Krishna through his life on earth and symbolizes with its four legs, the four Vedas of the Hindus. |
