Srinagar, Oct 10: The coalition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and BJP has refused to roll back the service tax on commercial helicopter services operating in the state, including two religious places of Mata Vaishno Devi in Jammu and Amarnath shrine in south Kashmir Himalyas. Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu said in the Legislative Council today that from September 2, all the commercial helicopter services operating in the state are subject to sales tax on services under the J&K GST Act, 1962. Dr Drabu had said this in a written reply to a question by Jugal Kishore Sharma. In reply to another question of the member the minister said the commercial helicopter service operating from Katra to Sanji Chatt Vaishno Devi, Paddar to Machiil, Baltal to Holy Amarnath Cave shrine also falls under the purview of the service tax. |
