Jammu, Oct 10: Twenty three persons sustained injuries when a Bhaderwah-Kishtwar bound bus turned turtle and fell into 40 feet deep gorge near Manda area, this morning. Police sources said that this morning a bus carrying passenger started its journey towards Bhaderwah-Kishtwar from Jammu Bus Stand at around 5 am. While reaching near Manda, the driver lost control over the vehicle and failed to negotiate a sharp curve resulting which the bus fell into 40 feet deep gorge causing injuries to twenty three passengers. After hearing the cries, morning walkers immediately informed the police and accordingly police reached the spot and shifted the injured to Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment. The injured have been identified as Attar Din, Kanchan Devi, Davinder Kumar, Mohd. Iqbal, Suraiya Begum, Sangeeta, Monika Charak, Mohd Latif, Nazir Ahmed, Ghanshyam Singh, Kulwant Singh, Sunil Kotwal, Abish Tanish all residents of Bhaderwah, Avinsh Kumar, Sham Singh , both residents of Udhampur, Bansi lal, Jagdev Singh, Varinder Anil, Sangeeta Daya Krishan, all residents of Doda and Shankar Dass of Ramnagar. Police said that a case in this connection has been registered and further investigation is on to ascertain reasons behind the mishap. |
