Over 35 Kanals Forest land retrieved, four structures demolished | | | Early Time Report Billawar Oct 10: Continuing its anti-encroachment drive a team of Billawar Forest Division today retrieved 35 Kanals and 09 marlas forest land from encroachers and also demolished four structures constructed by the encroachers. According to official spokesperson, the team headed by DFO Billawar Sat Paul, IFS along with Range officer Basohli Narinder Verma, SHO Basohli B D Singh, Assistant Directo, Forest Protection Force Bushan Kumar continuing anti encroachment drive evicted one Hamida S/o Shah Wali from forest land in Co. 18/Bsl of Basohli Range bearing Khasra number 252 of village Sabar. "The eviction process was executed successfully in the presence of executive magistrate appointed for the purpose and with the assistance of Police and FPF personnel. During the eviction process 19 Kanal 4 Marlas Forest land was retrieved and four structures ( One tin shed & three Kullas) raised by the accused were also dismantled and material used (tin sheets and wooden clefts) were also seized by the forest department, he added. Official said that encroachers were evicted after giving adequate opportunity and following prescribed procedure as laid down in section 48-A of J&K Forest Act besides this fencing work has already been started in the vacated forest land. The whole drive was closely monitored by Conservator of Forests, East Circle, Jammu B M Sharma, IFS, he added. In yet another attempt 16 Kanal 5 Marlas of Forest land has been retrieved from encroachers in forest Co. 12/Rkt by a team of Billawar Forest Division headed by Range Officer Ramkote Suresh Kr. Gupta. "The encroachers Shallo S/o Tej Ram & Chet Ram S/o Sarwan R/o Ramkote ( Morha Kothi Thayal) had encroached the forest land since many years. Range officer has been asked to submit the proposal for fencing retrieved forest area, official added. |
