MVD organizes road safety programme for Students 10/11/2015 12:42:40 AM Early Time Report Kathua Oct10: As part of the ongoing Road Safety Awareness drive among school and college students the Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) held an awareness camp at the DPS School Kathua. Films on road safety rules were shown to the students highlighting the need for responsible conduct while using school buses. A power point presentation was also made in which students were made aware of the different kind of safety measures to be adopted. Signature campaign was also started in all schools for awareness in students. The programme was attended by the Principal Nirmal Mahana , RTO Kathua Amarjeet Singh, ARTO Kathua Yaseer Arafat Motor Vehicle Inspectors of the Department, children and staff members of the institution participated with great enthusiasm. The officers also explained to the students the need for observance of Road Safety in wake of the rising accidents which are happening throughout the country and responsibility for it lies more on the young people especially who drive two wheelers. The information material pertaining to Road Safety was also distributed among the students. The principal Nirmal Mahana of the school also addressed the gathering and emphasized on the adherence to and importance of the Road Safety Awareness. She called upon the students to exercise caution while boarding / de-boarding buses so that any untoward incident can be minimized.
