Devotional songs mark 2nd day of Navratra Festival at Gandhi Nagar | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 15: On the second day of Navratra Festival in Lakshmi Narayan Temple Gandhi nagar, an enthralling 90 minute musical evening of devotional songs was held. About 25 young budding artists from schools and individuals entertained a huge gathering of devotees with their melodious Bhajans and devotional songs. The Festival is being organized for the first time by the Lakshmi Narayan Temple Management Trust, Gandhi Nagar. As per the ritual, the evening started with Maha Aarti which was participated by a large number of devotees including the Chief Guest of the evening Director All India Radio Jammu V S Samyal. The musical evening opened with Vandhna presented by a group of students of Dogra Higher Secondary School. It was followed by a devotional songs, "Chandi maa machailon wali", song by a 7th class student Harsh. The highlight of the evening was a rare and bold presentation by a 21 year old artist, Bhanu Sambariya who presented devotional songs with burning lamps kept on small wheel kept on his head which he meticulously balanced while dancing and singing devotional songs . It was an incredible sight which cast spell bound effect on the audience. He has presented his classical feat at more than 20 shows including at Delhi and Katra festival. Small kids also stole the show by their solo performances including one by a 5 year old Pragati who sang " raghupati raghav raja ram, patit paawan sita ram" to huge clapping of the gathering. |
