| 2 IEDs recovered along LoC in Poonch | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 15: Continuing search cum combing operations in the Krishna Ghati (KG) sector of Poonch to track down presence of any infiltrator hiding in the area following foiling of an infiltration bid on Wednesday, the security forces defused two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) along Line of Control (LoC) in district Poonch. According to official sources during the search operations two Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were recovered from the encounter site where the troops have foiled an infiltration bid on yesterday.
Pertinent to mention here that a militant was killed while an army jawan attained martyrdom in this fierce gun battle in KG Sector along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch. "During the search operation which was in progress, the security forces reportedly have recovered two IEDs and immediately defused insitu. A senior Army officer told reporters that attempt being made by militants to target Indian posts by planting IEDs was foiled. "A group of 3 to 4 infiltrators sneaked in and planted IEDs to target Indian posts in Krishna Ghati Sector," the officer asserted. Meanwhile, high alert has been sounded in the entire belt to prevent repeat of infiltration bids from across the line of control. |
