Avinash Azad Early Times Report jammu, Oct 15: Manager of Handicraft Centre, Kangri, Sunderbani, was allegedly thrashed by his subordinate staff few days ago. According to Rajinder Kumar, he was allegedly beaten up on October 10 when he entered the centre for an inspection. "The employees at the centre locked me inside for few hours and thrashed me brutally," he said. "When I entered the centre run from a rented house owned by one Kartar Singh to inspect production of carpet, Kartar's brother Shiv Kumar and others thrashed and locked me inside the centre," Kumar has alleged in his complaint to Station House Officer of Sunderbani police station. Kumar also alleged that he was roughed up in the past as well by his subordinates since he joined the centre in 2012. Kumar claimed there was a nexus between some employees and senior officers who are looting the exchequer. "Excess amount is being withdrawn from the department's exchequer to provide monetary benefits to the people receiving training in the centre," he alleged. He said he joined the centre as manager in 2012 but the charge has not been handed over to him so far. On June 6 this year, after a complaint by Kumar, the Chief Judicial Magistrate Rajouri had directed SHO Sunderbani to take action against the accused. Kumar had alleged that Pritam Lal, Mohammad Zaman and Shiv Kumar had beaten him up. "It is submitted that the above named persons who have committed the offences under section 323, 353, 503 and 504 RPC, be punished in accordance with law and any other offence for which above named persons, along with local leaders and miscreant elements of department are found guilty, they may also be punished," Kumar had requested the CJM Rajouri. When contacted by Early Times, SHO Sunderbani, Narinder Singh Jamwal, said after receiving a complaint from Kumar he summoned the accused persons. "A police team was also sent to the centre and we called both the parties to the police station, but he (Kumar) did not appear," Jamwal said. When contacted, Assistant Director, Handicraft Rajouri, Akhil Sadhotra, said he had gone on leave and can't say anything about the incident. |
