jammu, Oct 15: A police Inspector, who is at present posted as the SHO of a police station in Samba district, has turned rich overnight. He is alleged to have extracted a huge money from three youth and a girl, who were caught by him from a Samba hotel in an inebriated condition.
The incident is talk of the town. Police sources said the SHO received information about two days back that three youth had checked in a hotel at the national highway. The hotel is situated near a college.
Sources said when the SHO raided the hotel room, the three youth, including a SSB employee, and the girl were taking liquor. All the four were then whisked away to the police station where the signatures of the girl were taken on a white sheet of paper. She was later allowed to go home but police did not released the youth.
Police extracted huge money from the three youth and threatened to book them in a rape case if they discussed the matter with anyone, sources alleged, saying they were let off next morning without registration of any case against them.
The matter was, however, leaked by someone at the police station and it soon became a talk of the town. When a senior police officer tried to get details from the SHO, he told him that no such incident had taken place under his jurisdiction. |
