Jammu, Oct 15: PoJK Refugee Front today staged a dharna in protest against Ex officio Provincial Rehabilitation officer, Jammu for the non-implementation of the financial package sanctioned by the Central Government. The protest was led by front president Rachhpal Singh Chib in the Divisional Commissioner office Jammu. They said that a former PRO had initiated the process of disbursing the financial relief/aid sanctioned by the Central Government in 2000 to the displaced families of 1947 Pak invasion of J&K, but he did not do so for families/persons who were released from Pak jails in 1950.
"The front submitted a memorandum to the higher authorities to enhance the meagre amount of the package from Rs 25,000 to Rs 6 lakh. No response has been received so far. The Additional Commissioner in the Divisional Commissioner's office, who happens to be the nodal officer for relief to the displaced persons of 1947, 1965 and 1971, has stalled the process of implementation of the relief Package," he claimed. |
