JMC launches cleanliness drive | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 15: The Jammu Municipal Corporation launched cleanliness drive from Bahu Fort Temple which was flagged off by RS Jamwal, Joint Commissioner (Adm). A number of locals were involved in this awareness cum cleanliness drive to make it a mass movement. The area has been cleaned and desilted thoroughly particularly in view of the Navratras when thousands of devotees are visiting the temple of Mata Bawe Wali. Besides this, the drive also continued in the area from KC Chowk to Bus Stand area. As per the instructions of the Chief Secretary of J&K State, a thorough cleanliness drive is in progress in the premises of residential quarters of Estate Department to make the area neat and clean which shall continue up to 8th November 2015 in coordination with Dy. Director, Estate Department Jammu and a comprehensive Sanitation plan has been prepared in this direction keeping in view the Darbar Move. It has been also decided to put the dustbins at the identified places for the collection of garbage so that there may not be any kind on insanitary conditions in and around that Estate colonies located in the different localities of Jammu city. The JMC has also chalked out programme to cover all other areas falling within jurisdiction for further cleanliness in addition to the routine sanitation work and has appealed to one and all to come forward and be a pride participant in this awareness cum cleanliness drive to make the environment and the areas clean so that "Swachh Bharat is a reality". |
