Jammu, Oct 15: The ongoing hunger-strike of Ex Central Paramilitary Forces Welfare Association in favour of their demands entered 35th day. The protest has been going on, under the leadership its General Secretary Darshan Kumar since September 11 at Maharaja Hari Singh Park Jammu. "We are requesting since very long through protests and memorandum to Narendra Modi, Prime Minister and Rajnath Singh, Minister for Home Affairs alongwith MoS PMO Jatinder Singh but our woes have not been addressed till date," Darshan said. They demanded OROP benefit, Grade Pay and Military Service Pay, Ex Servicemen Status, revision of pension, enhance Medical Allowance to Rs. 2000, CSD and medical facilities, establishment of Ard Sainik Welfare Board etc. "We have fought for the integrity, peace, prosperity, security and betterment of the country as well as of the Nation but the government is compelling us to fight for our rights," darshan said. They appealed to GoI to resolve their demands on top priority. Those who sat on hunger strike include Dharma Pal, Suraj Parkash, Surjeet Singh, Thoru Ram, Haris Raj, Sat Pal, Bhagwan Dass, Mohd Mazid, Rattan Lal and Prem Lal. |
