| Thathri residents seek CM intervention in Kahara- Jai road project | | | Early Times Report
Doda, Oct 15: Residents of different villages-Budhi, Joura Kalan and Lower Shamdlian of minority community has sought immediate intervention of Chief Minister, Forest Minister and R&B Minister in Kahara-Jai road project dispute which arose in 2009 and is yet unsettled.
According to press release, an inquiry committee headed by Divisional Commissioner Jammu was constituted by Chief Secretary J&K government in 2012 but the members of the committee never visited the site themselves personally and they submitted that report to higher authorities which was prepared by the same lower level officers of R&B, PMGSY & Forest departments who had originally committed the irregularities & against whom the public had complained.
The 2007 Survey by R&B Sub-division Gandoh was from Kahara to Joura comprising a distance of 16 kms.
In 2011 the survey was conducted by R&B division Bhaderwah in opposite direction and mentioned in survey report the length of the road was from Jai to Joura Khurd comprising a distance of 09 kms as per the committee report but the total distance from Kahara to Jai thus is 25 kms.
They alleged that the 9 kms distance exists only in air and does not lie on the ground. This is a big fraud and needs immediate inquiry through Vigilance department or other independent agency. |
